Rankings
Scores do not compare across competitions — different implements, different weights, different scoring. Placings do. Every athlete is rated on who they actually beat, and beating a strong field counts for more than beating a weak one. Athletes who never met are still comparable, because the field is densely connected: nine in ten are linked by chains of shared divisions. How the rating works
